Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking a Registration of Interest (ROI) from a main contractor to design and build replacement walkway canopies and undertake minor roof remedial works at Whangarei Intermediate School. Purpose Several walkway canopy areas throughout the school site are in poor condition, with extensive corrosion and physical damage identified. Some guttering has had to be removed after sections became unsafe and came off due to severe rusting. Other canopy sections are within reach of students and have sustained further damage, increasing the risk of injury and ongoing deterioration. There is also a corner of a building that students are able to climb up the blocks to access the soffit. Scope The scope includes: Removal of walkway canopy sections affected by corrosion and physical damage Design and construction of new canopies to replace those removed Replacement of spouting and downpipes as required Design and installation of a custom flashing over the edge of the affected building to prevent access to the soffit
