Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is inviting proposals through this Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide Professional Learning and Development (PLD) services for the Science Learning Area under the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum | Te Mātaiaho (NZC), for Years 0-10 in English medium settings. Purpose The Ministry is undertaking a multi-year refresh of the national curricula, including The New Zealand Curriculum | Te Mātaiaho (NZC), to provide a clearer, more coherent, knowledge-rich framework aligned with the science of learning and evidence-informed high-impact explicit teaching pedagogies. The refreshed curriculum is being implemented in phases between 2026 and 2030, requiring sustained system support. Professional Learning and Development (PLD) is a critical enabler of successful implementation of the NZC, supporting teachers and leaders to build capability in knowledge-rich curriculum delivery, evidence-based teaching practices, and effective use of data and assessment. Scope The scope includes: Delivery of PLD services for the Science Learning Area to teachers in Years 0-10 Delivery of PLD services across the Ministry's twelve regions Delivery of at least two face to face sessions in each of the Ministry's twelve regions every year Delivery of services commencing from Term 2 2027 Delivery design inclusive of all travel costs Contract Terms and Conditions Proposed delivery approaches must remain within the indicative budgets outlined in the RFP Delivery must occur within the prescribed timeframes outlined in the RFP Delivery design must be scalable and aligned with the requirements outlined in the RFP Instructions to Tenderers This RFP is an open procurement process conducted via the Government Electronic Tender System (GETS) The Ministry is seeking a single supplier or consortium per Learning Area to deliver PLD Suppliers may bid for one, multiple, or all of the six Learning Areas (Science, Social Sciences, English, Art, Technology, Learning Languages) This RFP relates specifically to the Science Learning Area Enquiries Contact: Darren Stafford Phone: 04 439 5433
