Overview Hutt City Council is seeking a contractor to undertake sportsground subsoil drainage and associated improvement works as part of its 2026/27 programme of investment in natural-turf sportsgrounds, aimed at improving drainage performance, turf condition, resilience to wet weather and the number of playable hours available to the community. The scope includes: Installation of lateral and collector subsoil drainage Installation of drainage-disposal infrastructure Targeted grading Turf reinstatement and associated works At HW Shortt Park, installation of on-site soakage infrastructure, as conventional stormwater infrastructure is not available to receive the proposed subsoil drainage flows At HW Shortt Park, grading required to blend the surrounding field into the completed cricket-block levels, following completion of the separately renewed cricket block At Memorial Park, discharge of the majority of the proposed drainage system towards available stormwater infrastructure At Memorial Park, provision of storage and pumped discharge to the stormwater system for the portion of the field that cannot discharge by gravity
