About this tender
Overview Hutt City Council is inviting expressions of interest from local community groups, organisations and businesses to bring event and activity ideas to the Summer in the Hutt programme, running from 1 December to 31 March. About Summer in the Hutt is a vibrant summer programme that celebrates the talent, energy and diversity of the community, bringing people together across Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai Lower Hutt. Purpose Council is seeking ideas that could make Summer in the Hutt vibrant, welcoming and connected across the community. Ideas do not need to be fully planned; the Expression of Interest process helps Council understand what is being considered across the city and explore whether it can support the idea. Scope The scope includes: Neighbourhood picnics Outdoor movies Cultural celebrations Sports activities Live music Creative workshops Other event or activity ideas that align with the Summer in the Hutt programme Depending on the idea and how it aligns with the programme, Council may be able to offer: Community Events Support Fund information or funding Event advice and planning support Promotion through the Summer in the Hutt campaign Connections with the local Neighbourhood Hub Introductions to potential partners Advice on Council venues or public spaces Eligibility Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee funding or inclusion in the programme. All ideas will be reviewed against the Summer in the Hutt priorities and available resources before Council makes contact. Contractor Requirements If an event goes ahead, the organisation remains responsible for planning and delivering the event, including: Any required permissions Health and safety requirements Insurance Event management Council's role is to provide advice, connections and support where possible.
