About this tender
Overview Southland District Council (SDC) is proposing a stormwater upgrade on Waterford Drive, Winton, to address recurring surface flooding in the area. About A large rain event occurred in Southland in September 2023, leading to surface flooding across the region. SDC received complaints of surface flooding from several residents in Winton township. A stormwater upgrade was completed on Arthur Street in 2024. WSP have previously undertaken a stormwater model build for the township of Winton, with several recommended upgrades and locations identified for further investigation. Based on this work, flooding concerns on Waterford Drive have been identified for resolution through construction of a new stormwater main draining to the open channel on the west. Purpose SDC proposes to upgrade the stormwater network to reduce the flooding experienced on Waterford Drive in future rain events. Scope The scope includes: Construction of an additional stormwater main on Waterford Drive Upgrade works extending from the outlet drain on Ivy Russell Reserve, on the western side of 48 Hillary Street, to the Niddry Crescent and Waterford Drive intersection
