About this tender
Somerset Regional Council (SRC) is seeking to engage an appropriately experienced Head Contractor (incorporating a team of all necessary sub-consultants and sub-contractors) for provision of the full range of demolition and construction services required for the construction of the Toogoolawah Swimming Pool Amenities Building. The facility is located at Factory Road, Toogoolawah. It is understood to have originally opened in 1975 with recent upgrades being completed as part of Stage 1 works. Stage 1 upgrades consisted of the demolition of the existing 25m pool, wading pool, concourses, equipment room structure, and shade structure with construction of a new 25m x 8 lane lap pool including balance tank and disabled access ramp, filtration plant, heating plant and sanitation system; a new equipment room and driveway; a new roof structure over the pool and other shade sail structures to grassed areas; new concourses with new stairway and ramp accessing the gym; landscaping; mains services and new carpark. Following completion of Stage 1, Council have received approval to progress with the next component of the project which is to consist of construction of the new amenities building. Design has been developed for this next phase of facility upgrades and demolition of the existing amenities building is required prior to the construction of the new amenities building. Both demolition and construction are included in this stage of the delivery. These works are expected to consist of the following and are to be completed in a manner so that minimal disruption is encountered to pool operating hours and the community: 1. Completion of a Request for Tender (RFT) drawing review and provision of any feedback prior to being Issued for Construction (IFC). 2. Confirmation of all underground services that could be affected by the works have been properly located. 3. Establishment of the worksite, including the setup of temporary construction fencing. 4. Demolition of the existing amenities building and resorting the site such that compaction and shaping of the finished surface results in no ponding of water and turf can be applied to bare areas at the completion of site works. 5. Disposal of all demolition materials in a lawful manner. 6. Construction the New Amenities Building in accordance with all contract documentation. All conforming tenders must comply with the requirements of the approved IFT drawings and must include all work as indicated.
