About this tender
Overview Townsville City Council (TCC) is seeking Superintendency and Construction Verification services to support delivery of the Old Flinders Highway Intersection Upgrade project, part of the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct (LEIP). About TCC is delivering LEIP, Northern Australia's first environmentally sustainable, advanced manufacturing, technology and processing hub. LEIP is intended to fulfil the objectives of the Townsville City Deal to activate industry and export growth for the region. LEIP is located approximately 38 km south of Townsville, adjacent and west of Flinders Highway, on approximately 2,200 hectares of freehold Council-owned land. Previous works have been completed to facilitate access from the north of the precinct, however the existing configuration is not yet suitable for the planned traffic volumes, movements and vehicle types required to service LEIP. The Old Flinders Highway Intersection Upgrade project aims to deliver an upgrade to the TCC road network between the Flinders Highway and the extent of the previously completed Jones Road to No Name Road Upgrade, including construction of a new 4-leg intersection along Old Flinders Highway and reconfiguration of the adjoining roads to integrate with the new intersection arrangement. In addition to the intersection upgrade, TCC is progressing the design of an upgrade to the floodway on Glenn Road, which sits adjacent to the proposed intersection upgrade. The existing floodway has low immunity and prevents access during periods of wet weather. Purpose TCC has a current public tender to procure a civil construction contractor to undertake the Old Flinders Highway Intersection Upgrade works. The successful tenderer will be engaged under TCC's modified AS4000 Construct Only contract. TCC is seeking Superintendency and Construction Verification services to support the delivery of the contract works.
