Jandowae Spillway Regulatory Review
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview Western Downs Regional Council is seeking independent specialist advice as part of a regulatory review of the Jandowae Dam spillway. About Western Downs Regional Council (Council) is the owner and operator of Jandowae Dam, which serves as part of the water supply system for the township of Jandowae, Queensland. Purpose Council's overarching objective is to identify opportunities to achieve an acceptable and regulator-supported dam safety outcome at a substantially lower whole-of-life cost than the currently approved spillway remediation design. Scope The scope includes: Provision of independent specialist advice regarding potential regulatory, risk-based, operational and engineering pathways that may reduce the applicable design requirements Assessment of options to reduce the resulting construction scope and improve the overall affordability of the project Investigation of whether alternative interpretations, assessments or regulatory pathways exist that would enable a reduced design standard while maintaining an acceptable level of public safety and obtaining support from the relevant dam safety regulator
