About this tender

Overview The Department of Defence is conducting a market sounding to gather information on land, existing facilities and alternative financing and delivery solutions capable of supporting a scalable logistics node within the Alice Springs region and Central Queensland region. Purpose The capability is intended to support varying operational demands, with periods of high activity followed by periods of lower utilisation, and may require access to approximately 250 hectares of developable land and associated logistics infrastructure. Defence is interested in flexible, cost-effective and operationally ready solutions that provide capacity for future expansion and Defence-specific operational requirements. Scope The scope includes: Provision of information on land, existing facilities, and alternative financing and delivery solutions to support a scalable logistics node in the Alice Springs region and Central Queensland region Consideration of separate parcels of land to meet the logistics need, including land in proximity to transport infrastructure such as ports, rail, airports, and major roads, or land of sufficient size and design to support logistics activities Instructions to Respondents Participation in the market sounding does not constitute a procurement process, request for tender, expression of interest or commitment by the Commonwealth to pursue any delivery model or commercial arrangement.
