Somerset Regional Council is seeking Tenders from suitably registered, qualified and capable education providers to develop and operate a school on a site in Fernvale, Queensland. Council has made available a parcel of land situated at 14 Brouff Road, Fernvale, Queensland 4306 comprising Lot 1 on RP141219 and Lot 1 on SP351406 to establish the Proposed School. Collectively the two Lots total approximately 5.5 hectares in size. The proposed site is located in close proximity to the Somerset region’s most populated localities in Lowood and Fernvale and is located approximately 25 and 55 minutes from the Ipswich and Brisbane CBDs respectively. Council would like the Proposed School to comprise both primary and secondary schools (being grades from preparatory to grade 12), but Council acknowledges this may occur over time. Council is willing to contribute up to $5.1m of Council funds towards the Proposed School project. Prospective Tenderers may access the Tender documentation upon request via mail@somerset.qld.gov.au, attention: Daniel Rowe – Director Corporate and Community Services. Tenderers will be expected to attend a mandatory briefing meeting. Please direct any general and specification enquiries to mail@somerset.qld.gov.au, Attention: Daniel Rowe – Director Corporate and Community Services.
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
