About this tender
As part of the Outpatient Ophthalmology Community Alignment Program, Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is inviting expressions of interest (EOIs) from community optometrists and general practitioners (GPs) who are interested in becoming aligned practitioners for ‘low-risk review’ patients currently on the PAH ophthalmology waiting list. Aligned practitioners will play an important role in the management of ‘low-risk review’ patients, working closely with PAH’s specialists to provide patient-centred care seamlessly across general practice to hospital settings. With the program aiming to ensure that patients across our Brisbane South PHN region receive timely, coordinated and effective eye care. GPs and community optometrists: participate in the free training workshop to become a PAH-aligned practitioner The Outpatient Ophthalmology Community Alignment Program will be delivered as a full-day workshop on Sunday 19 July 2026 from 8 am to 4 pm. Interested optometrists and GPs are invited to submit an expression of interest in participating in the program and attending the initial training workshop. Catering will be provided, along with in-depth lectures and practical, hands-on sessions from leading ophthalmologists and optometrists. Please note that there is an eligibility criterion (for GPs and optometrists regarding the alignment program), however PAH encourage applicants to apply if they do not meet these criteria as they will still be welcome to attend the workshop.
