Redevelopment Kawana Aquatic Centre - Construction Stage 3

Overview Sunshine Coast Council has engaged a specialist design team to prepare the design and construction documentation for Stages 1 to 4 of the Kawana Aquatic Centre Redevelopment. Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified Principal Contractors to undertake the Kawana Aquatic Centre Redevelopment - Construction Stage 3 works. About Stages 1 and 2 of the redevelopment are now complete. Scope The scope includes: Resurfacing of the existing 25-metre pool Construction of a new storage facility Upgrades to the centre's mechanical and electrical infrastructure Supply of all materials, plant, equipment and labour necessary to undertake and complete all activities associated with the scope of works Carrying out all tasks, operations and associated services required to deliver the works in accordance with the specified requirements and to a satisfactory standard Implementation of a staged delivery approach that minimises disruption to facility users, pedestrian access, parking availability, traffic movements, and visitors to the precinct, given the facility will remain operational during construction Contract Terms and Conditions The works will be delivered under a lump sum contract Anticipated commencement date: February 2027 Required completion date: No later than November 2027 Tender Briefing and Site Inspection A site information session will be held to provide further details and clarification regarding the project requirements, site conditions and Council's expectations. Council strongly encourages tenderers to attend this session to facilitate inspection of restricted access areas, including the plant rooms, noting that no alternative access arrangements will be made available. The session will be conducted in accordance with the details provided in Schedule 2.
