Issued by Hinchinbrook Shire Council
Queensland : Townsville
Plant & Equipment : Plant & Equipment Hire

About this tender

This Request for Tender constitutes a refresh of Council’s existing Register of Pre-Qualified Suppliers for Wet and Dry Plant Hire (HSC 24-10). The refresh is being undertaken to: • provide additional opportunities for local suppliers to be included on the Register; and • introduce an additional category of plant and equipment to better meet operational requirements. Existing suppliers appointed under the current Register are not required to re-submit a tender and will remain appointed for the balance of the current Term, subject to ongoing compliance with the Contract. Suppliers successfully appointed through this refresh will be added to the existing Register and will be bound by the same Contract terms and expiry date. Hinchinbrook Shire Council (the Principal) invites tenders from a variety of suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for appointment as a pre-qualified supplier of the wet hire (with operator) and dry hire (without operator) of mobile and fixed plant and equipment hire. The Principal provides a range of construction and maintenance services on the Principal’s existing infrastructure assets that require the use of various plant and equipment. Pre-qualified suppliers will be used to supplement the Principal’s own equipment and resources. Successful Tenderers may be required to work with gravel, limestone, road base and other construction materials used by the Principal in the construction of roads, drainage and reserves, etc. The initial term of the appointment is two (2) years with 1 x one year extension option.

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
