Trunk Watermain Construction

Overview Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced civil contractors for the construction of Council owned trunk watermain infrastructure. Scope The scope includes: Supply and installation of new watermain infrastructure, fittings and associated connections Excavation and trenching Testing and commissioning Reinstatement works All other associated civil works required to complete the project Clearing and grubbing of undergrowth, with retention of saplings and trees exceeding specified diameters unless approved for removal by the Superintendent Excavating and grading of roadways, including side drains, parking areas and intersections Excavation and removal of unsuitable material from the road bed and beneath embankment areas Disposal of all excavated material in accordance with the specifications and the line, grades and dimensions shown on the drawings or as pegged by the Superintendent Removal of stumps and roots to specified depths below subgrade or footpath level in roadway cuts, and to specified depths below original ground surface in embankment areas Reinstatement of any boundary fences removed or damaged during construction, to their original condition and to the satisfaction of the Superintendent, prior to the contract being placed on maintenance Contractor Requirements Demonstrated experience in the construction of comparable watermain and civil infrastructure works Hold all licences, insurances, approvals and competencies required to undertake the works All works to be undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities, applicable standards and the requirements detailed within the Tender Documentation Contract Terms and Conditions The successful contractor will be required to complete the works safely, efficiently and in accordance with the Tender Documentation, approved drawings, specifications, relevant authority requirements and agreed construction programme Instructions to Tenderers Tenderers are to refer to the attached Tender Documentation, Drawings, Specifications and Bill of Quantities for the full scope of works and tender requirements This Specification should be read in conjunction with AS 3798 (Guidelines on Earthworks for Commercial and Residential Developments); any apparent conflicts between the Specification and AS 3798 must be referred to the Superintendent for clarification Tender submissions are to include all costs necessary to complete the works as documented, including all associated construction, testing, commissioning and reinstatement requirements
