Overview The City of Tea Tree Gully is inviting South Australian artists to submit an Expression of Interest for Gallery 1855’s Adelaide Fringe Festival Exhibition in 2027, titled ‘It Starts in the Backyard’. About The backyard is a place with expansive possibilities. It is a site where the personal meets the political, where the ordinary becomes symbolic, and where the quiet rhythms of daily life echo larger cultural, ecological, and social forces. ‘It Starts in the Backyard’ invites artists to respond to this theme, considering how this intimate, familiar space can act as a lens through which we understand the world around us. The exhibition will showcase an array of South Australian contemporary, traditional and community-based visual art. Scope Gallery 1855 encourages submissions of all mediums, including but not limited to: Painting Photography Printworks Textiles Sculpture and ceramics Jewellery Eligibility Open to artists aged 16 and over residing in South Australia Applications are especially encouraged from artists who live, work or create in the City of Tea Tree Gully How to Apply Please read the Expression of Interest Guidelines before submitting your application.
