About this tender

Overview Wattle Range Council has engaged commercial real estate firm Colliers to manage an Expression of Interest (EOI) process for the former Millicent Saleyards precinct, seeking proposals that will help unlock the future potential of the site. About The 58.4-hectare site was formally closed as a stock transfer facility in March 2024. Council CEO Ben Gower said the EOI process is an important step in identifying opportunities that can bring new investment, jobs and economic activity to Wattle Range. The site carries Strategic Employment zoning, which Council considers presents a significant opportunity to support economic growth while making productive use of land that has played an important role in the region's history. Purpose Council is seeking to identify opportunities that can bring new investment, jobs and economic activity to Wattle Range by attracting businesses or organisations to buy, lease, or partner to develop all or part of the former Millicent Saleyards precinct. Scope The scope includes: Expressions of interest from businesses or organisations interested in buying, leasing, or partnering to develop all or part of the Millicent Saleyards EOI area for business, industrial, or other economic development opportunities The remaining land available within the EOI area, including existing saleyards infrastructure, open paddocks, an office building, sheds, a truck wash, roadways and other assets Council will be retaining the Waste Transfer Station and the adjacent sheep yards and pens for potential future expansion, and these are not included in the EOI area. How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
