About this tender
Overview The Department for Environment and Water (SA) is seeking a contractor to deliver water infrastructure upgrades at three sites within the Loveday and Mussel Lagoon Wetlands, namely the Loveday inlet regulator (replacement), the Red Gate regulator (replacement) and the Loveday Causeway (retrofit). About This project forms part of the broader South Australia Constraints Measures and Sustaining Riverland Environments programs. The project will be delivered by the Department for Environment and Water (DEW), with the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) as funding partner, under the supervision of the Murray Darling Basin Authority (MDBA). Purpose The works are aimed at removing operational and physical constraints to the delivery of environmental water to floodplains, improving river and wetland health and supporting native fish outcomes. The upgrades are expected to support the delivery of environmental flows under the Murray–Darling Basin Plan, enhancing ecological outcomes for both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Scope The scope includes: Demolition of two existing regulator structures and construction of two new regulator structures: the Loveday North inlet/outlet regulator and the Red Gate regulator Retrofit of five existing culvert structures under the Loveday Causeway with stopboards and fish screens Tender Briefing A mandatory briefing session for the Loveday and Mussel Lagoon Infrastructure Upgrades will be held as follows. Date: 17 September 2026 Time: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (Central Standard Time) Location: Loveday Causeway, enter off Schell Road, Cobdogla, South Australia, Australia, 5346 Mandatory: Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid RSVP to Leandro de Moura by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
