About this tender
Cethana Power Station comprises of an underground power hall, housing a single 100MVA Fuji unit with a Francis turbine. The machine is connected to three (3) single-phase power transformers, with a fourth disconnected spare installed as a contingency measure. The four underground transformers then connect to an above-ground 220kV switchyard via four oil-filled cables. This project seeks to replace the transformers, the oil-filled cables, and refurbish the switchyard, replacing most of the devices and infrastructure. This document defines the technical requirements for decommissioning, installation and commissioning of various electrical components. This has been broken into Primary Electrical equipment, Secondary Electrical equipment and Civil Works. Importantly, the supply, decommissioning, installation and commissioning of the four transformers and the 220kV EHV cable is completed by others. As such, no consideration is provided in this scoping document. Staging of works is to be considered, with Hydro Tasmania to work with contractors to minimise outage durations.
