Overview Lung Foundation Australia is inviting applications for the Lung Foundation Australia - Ivan Cash Grant for Research in Pulmonary Fibrosis, valued at $5,000 + GST over a maximum of 1 year. About A generous bequest by Mr. Ivan Cash, who sadly passed away from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2008, has made the establishment of this Grant possible. It continues to be funded annually in partnership with the Lung Foundation Australia Research Fund. Funding Grant value of $5,000 + GST over a maximum of 1 year Funding will commence post-notification in Q1 2026 Grant funds may be used to supplement other sources of research funding, see Terms and Conditions for more information Eligibility Health professionals and early to mid-career researchers with a special interest in pulmonary fibrosis are invited to apply. Objectives Projects with a focus on new interventions to improve lung function and alleviate symptoms, as well as disease management in line with community identified priorities, are highly encouraged and will be viewed positively by the grant review committee. These priorities include: Medications to reverse scarring in the lungs Improving lung function Interventions aimed at alleviating symptoms The best exercise programme for PF Projects which further focus on priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, are also highly encouraged.
