2027 Geelong Community Foundation Scholarships Now Open

Overview The Geelong Community Foundation provides scholarships that help people in the region pursue education, training and career opportunities. The scholarships support students and young people who demonstrate motivation, potential and a commitment to their future. Two scholarship opportunities are currently offered: Education Scholarships supporting students entering Years 11 and 12, and Agricultural and Horticultural Scholarships supporting young people pursuing careers in these industries. Funding Education Scholarships Education Scholarships support Year 10 students transitioning into Years 11 and 12, providing financial support during the final two years of secondary school. The scholarship can be used to pay for expenses such as: School fees Textbooks and learning materials Excursions/incursions Technology or equipment required for study Extracurricular activities that support learning Exam preparation and tutoring Year 12 graduation events Scholarship funds are not paid directly to students. Instead, funds are provided to the school the student is attending. The student and their family may then be reimbursed for approved education-related expenses by providing receipts to the school. Agricultural and Horticultural Scholarships Agricultural and Horticultural Scholarships support young people pursuing education or training in agriculture or horticulture, aiming to support the next generation of people working in these industries. This may include study in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, land management and diesel mechanics. The scholarship can be used to pay for expenses such as: School fees Textbooks and learning materials Excursions/incursions Protective wear or tools required for training or work placements Extracurricular activities that support learning Industry workshops or conferences Scholarship funds are not paid directly to students if they are still engaged in secondary school. Instead, funds are provided to the school the student is attending, and the student and their family may then be reimbursed for approved education-related expenses by providing receipts to the school. If the scholarship recipient is no longer attending secondary school, the scholarship will be paid to them directly. Eligibility Education Scholarships Students who: Are currently in Year 10 Attend a school within the City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast Shire, or Golden Plains Shire Are preparing to enter Year 11 Demonstrate motivation to succeed in their education Agricultural and Horticultural Scholarships Students who: Are aged 15 to 25 years Live, work or study within the City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast Shire, or Golden Plains Shire Are undertaking or planning to undertake education or training in agriculture, horticulture or a related field
