About this tender

Overview Mitchell Shire Council is seeking a contractor to deliver Stage 2 of the Black Duck Crossing Playspace project at Black Duck Reserve, Kilmore, building on Stage 1 works delivered in 2025. About Black Duck Reserve in Kilmore is an established open space featuring a combination of granitic sand and concrete pathways, two stormwater treatment retarding basins, mature trees, understory vegetation, and regularly maintained grassy areas. The reserve gently slopes towards the south and forms part of a broader green corridor adjacent to a linear park along a tributary of Kilmore Creek. The reserve is surrounded by existing as well as further planned residential development. While the area currently provides open space and a network of shared paths, it lacks the local park infrastructure typically found in urban communities. Stage 1 of the playspace project, delivered in 2025, provided the base traditional play equipment element, softfall playground expanse, connecting pathways, and defining perimeter log and rock edging. Purpose Stage 2 of the project seeks to build on the enhancements delivered in Stage 1 by introducing a range of local park amenities to Black Duck Reserve. Scope The scope includes: Delivery of nature-based play elements that reflect the site's natural character Installation of a drinking fountain Installation of seating areas for rest and social interaction
