Overview Mount Alexander Shire Council is seeking a contractor to carry out bushfire hazard tree removal works following the January 2026 Harcourt and District bushfires. About Mount Alexander Shire Council (MASC) incurred significant damage to trees during the January 2026 Harcourt and District bushfires, with a high number of hazard trees assessed and removed within the initial MASC Disaster Response. A secondary assessment of roadside hazard trees undertaken by MASC in August 2026 identified that many of the retained trees impacted by the fire event are dead, unviable, or hazardous, with appropriate works now programmed.
