Campaspe Artists in Residence (CAIR) program

Overview Campaspe Shire Council is seeking artists to take part in the Campaspe Artists in Residence (CAIR) program. The program supports artists of all disciplines and career stages by providing dedicated time, professional support and opportunities to develop their artistic practice, undertake research, explore local stories and landscapes, and strengthen connections with community and place. Scope The residency is designed to support a diverse range of creative activities. The scope includes: Research Experimentation Skill development Creative production Community-connected practice Eligibility As part of Council's commitment to supporting First Nations-led arts and cultural practice, and acknowledging the contribution First Nations artists make to the cultural life of the region, one Artist in Residence opportunity has been identified for a First Nations artist. Funding Successful CAIR applicants will receive a residency fee ranging from $3,000 to $5,000, depending on career stage, residency stream and the scope of the proposed project. Successful applicants will also receive: The opportunity to connect with partner venues or locations to support residency research, noting that the support offered will vary between venues and partners Assistance connecting to local organisations, community groups, cultural sites and relevant stakeholders Professional support from Council staff throughout the residency period Promotion of the residency and participating artists through Council communication channels Opportunities to connect with fellow residency participants through Council-facilitated artist gatherings
