Overview Surf Coast Shire Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from emerging local artists to take part in the 'Voices from Home' project, working with lead artist Megan J Riedl to prepare and perform a piece of writing. Eligibility Open to emerging local artists with a practice in theatre-making, acting, writing prose or poetry, spoken word, songwriting or storytelling Only eight places are available, so submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a place Participants must be available to attend both the masterclass on Saturday 7 November 2026 and the community performance on Sunday 15 November 2026 The Role Participating artists will: Prepare up to five minutes of text for performance Work with Megan J Riedl in a day-long masterclass to explore their text through dramaturgical and directorial analysis Develop techniques for a dynamic solo performance Join Megan J Riedl to share their work as part of the 'Voices from Home' community performance Masterclass: Saturday 7 November 2026 (held in Anglesea) Community performance: Sunday 15 November 2026 (location to be confirmed) How to Apply To apply, email artsteam@surfcoast.vic.gov.au and include: A little about you and your creative practice Why you're interested in being part of 'Voices from Home' What you hope to gain from the masterclass Confirmation that you're available on both Saturday 7 and Sunday 15 November A formal CV or application is not required; applicants only need to share information about themselves, their practice and their interest in taking part.
