About this tender
Overview The Child and Adolescent Health Service (WA) is seeking offers for the provision of 2 x Nerve Integrity Monitors (NIM) for the Perth Children's Hospital (PCH) Operating Theatres. Purpose CAHS requires the supply of 2 x Nerve Integrity Monitors (NIM) for the PCH Operating Theatres. NIMs provide continuous intraoperative measurement, stimulation and display of parameters related to the adequacy of neurological activity of the cranial, spinal and peripheral nerves, measuring, processing and displaying evoked electromyography and free electromyography. NIMs are required in an Operating Theatre for patient safety and to improve surgical function, as they provide real-time, objective feedback on nerve function during high-risk procedures. This allows clinicians to instantly detect impending nerve damage and adjust surgical manoeuvres in response. For delicate and complex surgeries such as those within the spine, the head and neck, and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), NIMs are the gold standard in practice. Scope The monitors should consist of: A main unit, complete with transport trolley, electrodes to acquire neuro-electrical signals and stimulate neural activity A patient interface box Full set of operator and service manuals Clinical and biomedical training As the monitors are used for intraoperative nerve integrity monitoring for patient safety purposes, they will function as a stand-alone unit and will not be connected to the CAHS network or store any data.
