Overview The City of Cockburn is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Building Contractor for the removal and replacement of existing asbestos ceiling sheeting at Pineview Kindy. Scope The scope includes: Removal and replacement of existing asbestos ceiling sheeting at Pineview Kindy Disconnection of all associated electrical, lighting and HVAC services currently penetrating the asbestos material prior to removal Reinstatement of the electrical, lighting and HVAC services once the new ceiling has been installed The building is currently used as a community kindy, and all required works are to be undertaken during the school holiday period. A full statement of the services required under the proposed contract is detailed in Document B01 Specification. Contractor Requirements Registered Building Contractor with suitable qualifications and experience Compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018, including the ability to provide a Modern Slavery Statement as required by the Act when requested Contract Terms and Conditions The Works are to be carried out between Wednesday, 2 December 2026 and Wednesday, 20 January 2027 The City will have access to the building on Monday, 30 November and Tuesday, 1 December 2026 to arrange removal of all furniture and other items into containers for off-site storage by the City's removalist The Contractor will be able to access the building on this day, however no asbestos disturbance will be permitted until Wednesday, 2 December 2026 The building must be ready for inspection by the Principal's Representative on Monday, 18 January 2027 The building must be handed back to the community kindy on Monday, 25 January 2027 The proposed contract shall be in force for a period of fifteen (15) months from the anticipated Contract Award in October 2026 to January 2028, comprising delivery of asbestos removal works to facilitate occupation of the facility by January 2027, together with a 12 month Defects Liability Period Tender Briefing and Site Inspection Attendance at this meeting is mandatory. Failure to attend this briefing/inspection will render the Tenderer ineligible to submit a Tender. Date: Friday, 7 August 2026 Time: 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm (AWST) Location: Pineview Kindergarten, 30 Mopsa Way, Coolbellup WA 6163 The briefing/inspection will provide Tenderers with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties with the Principal prior to the closing of the Tender. Tenderers must confirm their intention to attend by contacting Daniel Fortini, City Facilities Technical Officer, City of Cockburn, by phone (08) 9411 3496 or by email at dfortini@cockburn.wa.gov.au, no later than 4:00 pm (AWST) Thursday, 6 August 2026. All attendees will be required to sign an Acknowledgement Register of Attendance, which will be available on site at the briefing/inspection.
