SR01236 - Threatened Ecological Community Mapping for the Central West Orana REZ Description Open tender for supply of mapping of Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs) within the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ) and adjoining areas. Project goals The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking an experienced ecological consultancy to provide mapping of multiple Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs) within the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and adjacent areas. TEC mapping is one of many inputs used to prioritise where to direct efforts to build biodiversity credit supply. The supplier will deliver a spatial layer and accompanying report of mapped TECs within the study area compliant with Biodiversity Conservation (BC) Act determinations. Scope Map all BC Act 2016 listed TECs within the defined study area, with a current estimate of ~219,000 hectares of TEC Undertake mapping using existing data, aerial photo interpretation (~1:5,000) and field validation based on image‑object polygons supplied by DCCEEW. Complete stratified random ground surveys (~100 sites per 1:100,000 map sheet), including ~10% full floristic surveys and rapid surveys using Fulcrum Operate in accordance with DCCEEW safety standards, and ensure all field work is conducted with a minimum of two people. Deliver ArcGIS‑compatible spatial datasets (TEC polygons and attributed survey sites) consistent with BC Act determinations. Provide a concise technical report outlining methods, results, mapping confidence and key interpretation decisions.
