About this tender

Overview The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is seeking suitably qualified economic consultancies to deliver the AIMS Index of Marine Industry 2027, including a strengthened Blue Economy and Blue Carbon assessment. About The AIMS Index of Marine Industry is produced on a biennial basis. The 2025 edition updated estimates for 2021–22 and 2022–23 and introduced an initial qualitative discussion of blue economy concepts. Scope The 2027 Index should: Maintain a robust and backwards-comparable time series of marine industry output, value added and employment Include a concise but structured Blue Economy module, with explicit coverage of blue carbon ecosystems and nature-based solutions as emerging economic and environmental assets Include a concise section outlining key differences from the 2025 Index in data, methods, and findings The work will be undertaken with regard to relevant Australian Government and international blue economy, ocean accounting and climate policy frameworks.
