Overview Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is seeking tenders from competent contractors to provide materials and services to undertake the CAL27 Motor Generator and UPS Upgrade Works. As part of ARTC's Annual Maintenance Program for calendar year 2027, ARTC is planning to undertake upgrade works to Motor Generator and UPS infrastructure at various locations in the Hunter Valley Network. About The existing Motor Generator and UPS equipment has reached life expiry, and upgrade works are required to future proof the assets. These works also include upgrading the existing Motor Generator to external mount and upgrading of UPS to new UPS type upgrades. Purpose The intent of the project is to reduce the risk of obsolete equipment types and infrastructure failures, reducing the subsequent operational impacts through the installation of more reliable and available assets, thus aligning the identified infrastructure with current ARTC standards and Heavy Haul guidelines to increase the maintainability and availability of the system. Scope The scope of works includes Project Management, Design Management, Signalling Design, Procurement, Manufacture, Construction, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Certification and handover, including all Safeworking required and supply of all materials, tools and labour for the Motor Generator and UPS infrastructure upgrade works listed below for the Hunter Valley Network. The scope will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: Replace existing Motor Generator with a new external Kenshaw type generator and Deep Sea 7420 controller at Boggabri Coal 53 Location Install the new generator externally with new roofing and fencing at Boggabri Coal 53 Location, utilising the existing slab Install a new Kenshaw type Motor Generator with Deep Sea 7420 controller and new roofing and fencing at Hexham Weighbridge Location Install the new generator at Hexham Weighbridge Location on a new platform structure aligned with the Signalling location floor level, positioned above flood levels in the area Replace the existing UPS with a CE&T 240V Cabinet unit, CE&T 120V Modular unit, or Alpha 120V Cabinet unit as specified Update the power arrangement to suit new equipment, including but not limited to ATS, distribution boards and circuit breakers Upgrade the alarm management system for the new Motor Generator and UPS arrangement so it is alarmed and monitored on the ARTC 4Site Alarm Management system Bridge any Microlok input alarms affected by the Motor Generator and UPS upgrade works, rather than making Microlok data changes at this stage
