Overview Camden Council is seeking a principal contractor for the Construction of Onslow Park Playground Renewal, involving the construction of a purpose-built facility at Onslow Park, Camden NSW 2570. Purpose The purpose of this contract is to engage a reputable and experienced principal contractor to undertake the scope of works identified in the specifications and drawings supplied with this tender. Scope Camden Council invites quotations from competent and experienced contractors for the renewal of the playground at Onslow Park, Camden in accordance with the attached drawings and specifications. The new works will provide an accessible, functional, and inviting space compliant with the relevant Australian Standards. The project must deliver high-quality workmanship, meet all relevant accessibility and regulatory standards, and be completed within the agreed timeframe and budget. The scope of works is outlined in the Specifications and Drawings of this tender and includes but is not limited to: Demolition Demolition of existing site areas in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications, including concrete pads, furniture, mulch, and associated footings Site Establishment Temporary fencing, protection of existing assets, and management of site access Protection of existing trees and landscaping and existing areas to be retained Construction Supply and installation of new playground equipment, rubber and mulch Softfall, concrete pavements, sandstone block retaining walls, balustrade fencing, seats, and wheelchair-accessible picnic settings in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications Construction of new fence and entry gate (option 1) Construction of sub-drainage pipeline (option 1) Drainage Installation of subsoil drainage, junction pits, flush points, and connection to existing stormwater infrastructure in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications Landscaping Planting of trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and turf as per the planting plan and schedule in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications Signage Installation of Camden Council regulatory signage Safety and Compliance Compliance with AS4685 (Playground Equipment and Surfacing), AS4422 (Softfall), AS4970 (Tree Protection), and Camden Council standards, including provision of temporary fencing, placement of Council advertisement mesh, and ongoing management during the course of the project Management of all WHS requirements in accordance with NSW WHS legislation 2021, acting as the Principal Contractor Arranging for installed playground equipment to be safety certified by a suitably qualified playground safety auditor to ensure the requirements of AS 4685 (2014) Playground Equipment and Surfacing are met, including a post-completion site audit covering all elements within the play environment and their onsite installation, whether off the shelf or custom made, with the extent of the play environment determined by the auditor and potentially extending beyond the soft fall area Environmental Controls Implementation of sediment and erosion control measures in accordance with NSW EPA guidelines and management of environmental controls of the site in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications Engagement of an arborist to oversee excavations in and around existing tree assets Completion and Maintenance Establishment and maintenance of turf and plantings for 3 months (12 weeks) following Practical Completion Removal of all spoil and waste from site Reinstatement of areas disturbed during construction to pre-existing conditions to the satisfaction of the Superintendent Supply of handover documentation in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications Ongoing maintenance requirements, including mowing, to ensure adequate public presentation to the satisfaction of the Superintendent for the duration of the 3 month establishment period Contractor Requirements Reputable and experienced as a principal contractor capable of undertaking the scope of works identified in the specifications and drawings Competent and experienced in playground renewal works
