Overview The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW) is seeking a suitably qualified provider to undertake five-yearly monitoring of habitat parameters and stem density tallies across all 22 ecological thinning trial sites within Murray Valley National Park, as part of the Ecological Thinning Trial Monitoring Plan. Purpose The purpose of this monitoring is to assess the long-term ecological outcomes of thinning treatments and provide information to support future forest management decisions. Scope This RFQ focuses on the following monitoring components: Habitat parameters: identify and assess all hollow-bearing trees and large trees by recording their diameter, spatial location and hollow characteristics Stem density monitoring: categorising trees according to diameter class, stem type, origin, and condition (live or dead) Contract Terms and Conditions Contract term: six months Fieldwork scheduled between December 2026 and April 2027 All survey data and associated deliverables must be submitted to NPWS by 31 May 2027
