Overview Warrumbungle Shire Council is seeking a contractor to undertake the Five Causeways Reconstruction Projects, restoring and improving the safety, functionality, durability and serviceability of existing causeway crossings within the Warrumbungle Shire Council road network. Objectives The key objectives of the Works are to: Reconstruct the existing causeways to provide structurally sound and durable crossings capable of supporting the expected road traffic and environmental conditions Improve road user safety by providing stable, appropriately graded and properly connected causeway crossings and road approaches Improve the reliability of the road network by reducing the likelihood of failure, deterioration and prolonged disruption at the five causeway locations Provide durable infrastructure through the use of appropriate construction materials, reinforced concrete, suitable pavement materials and compliant construction practices Maintain effective watercourse function by ensuring the reconstructed causeways accommodate existing drainage and water flows without causing unacceptable impacts to surrounding areas or downstream environments Minimise environmental impacts during construction through appropriate erosion and sediment controls, water management, waste management and protection of existing vegetation and waterways Maintain access and minimise disruption to road users, adjoining landholders and the surrounding community throughout construction, while ensuring appropriate traffic management and public safety measures are implemented Achieve the required quality and performance standards by undertaking appropriate inspections, testing, surveying and quality assurance in accordance with the Contract Documents and approved Inspection and Test Plans Provide value for Council and the community by delivering fit-for-purpose infrastructure that meets the required performance, durability and maintenance expectations Complete the Works safely and efficiently while complying with all applicable statutory requirements, Council requirements, environmental obligations, technical specifications and approved construction methodologies Scope The scope includes: Reconstruction of five existing causeway crossings on the Warrumbungle Shire Council road network Construction using reinforced concrete, appropriate pavement materials and compliant construction practices Implementation of erosion and sediment controls, water management and waste management during construction Protection of existing vegetation and waterways during construction Implementation of traffic management and public safety measures to maintain access for road users, adjoining landholders and the surrounding community during construction Inspection, testing, surveying and quality assurance in accordance with the Contract Documents and approved Inspection and Test Plans
