The Local Heritage Places Grant program aims to raise awareness of heritage conservation, with a funding contribution from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. Funding is aimed at supporting owners of significant heritage buildings, listed heritage buildings or items in the Heritage Conservative area under Conargo and Deniliquin environmental plans. The 2026-2027 grant program is now open. Submissions must be made by 5:00pm on Friday 3 July 2026. Program Focus Program focus is conservation and maintenance works that improve: Community and public buildings Town and village streetscapes Owners of heritage properties throughout the council area are also encouraged to apply for grant funding. The available funding is dependent on the number and type of applications received. Applications are generally advertised in May/June each year. Successful applicants need to contribute one dollar for every dollar provided by the grant.
