Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking a mechanical contractor to upgrade heating in Blocks 1-5, 9, 12 and 13 at Milson School, covering classrooms and administration areas. Purpose The project is primarily driven by the replacement of heat pump assets that have reached the end of their life. The outcomes are intended to provide ongoing confidence to teaching and administrative buildings by maintaining suitable environments, with reduced maintenance outgoings and equipment failures over the coming years. Scope The scope includes: Replacement of a number of heat pumps in various areas around the school Relocation of some heating units associated with the separate roofing project Undertaking works during the summer holidays, given the works will affect environmental control within education and administrative spaces, to minimise disturbance to students and staff Contractor Requirements Coordinate with the successful roofing contractor, given the overlap between the Roof Remedial and Replacement Project and the Heating to Classrooms and Admin Project, to deliver positive outcomes for the school and to preserve warranties associated with the roof work project
