About this tender
Overview Environment Canterbury Regional Council is seeking an ecological restoration contractor to undertake targeted weed control within the Rakaia Gorge catchment. Purpose The key outcome sought is targeted weed control to achieve suppression or eradication of key weed species in the catchment, protecting surrounding indigenous biodiversity values and the natural character of the Rakaia Gorge catchment. This is an ongoing project that aims to build on the previous five years of work. Scope The scope includes: Control of the ecological weed species identified in each year's operational plan, with the aim of eradicating or substantially suppressing them across the Rakaia Gorge catchment Use of ground-based methods for most work, minimising impacts on surrounding indigenous vegetation Provision of aerial control methods where required One or more contractors may be engaged to deliver this work.
