About this tender

Overview Taranaki Regional Council (TRC) invites proposals from suitably qualified suppliers to deliver environmental weed and pest plant control services across the Taranaki region for the 2026/27 financial year. Suppliers may submit proposals for one or more service areas (Lots). Purpose The programme supports key biosecurity and biodiversity objectives through the management and control of priority pest plant species, including Old Man's Beard, Madeira Vine, Moth Plant, Climbing Spindleberry and Giant Reed. Scope Work will be delivered across multiple locations throughout the region and may include maintenance control, eradication programmes, specialist access weed control, and difficult terrain operations. The available Lots are: Lot 1: Old Man's Beard River Corridor Control Lot 2: Specialist Access Weed Control (abseil, rope access and difficult access sites) Lot 3: Direct Control Pest Plant Programme Objectives Successful suppliers will work alongside TRC to achieve measurable environmental outcomes, protect native biodiversity, and support implementation of the Regional Pest Management Plan. The programme offers an opportunity to contribute to the long-term management of invasive species while building regional environmental capability and delivering value for the Taranaki community.
