Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking a contractor to carry out reroofing and interior remediation works at Upper Hutt College, covering the Old River Gym, Wharenui, and Multi-Room Complex (MRC) buildings within Blocks G and J. Scope The scope includes: Preparation and implementation of site-specific Health and Safety documentation, including the SSSP Establishment and maintenance of the site, including access, security, protection of occupied areas, and temporary works Old River Gym Roof (Block G) Removal of the existing pop-top ridge vent and permanent weatherproofing of the opening Replacement of translucent roofing sheets with new trafficable translucent sheets, including associated flashings and fixings Completion of all associated roof reinstatement and making-good works MRC Roof (Block G) Installation of new membrane roofing over tapered PIR insulation Provision of new gutters, flashings, rainwater heads, outlets, and downpipes Installation of additional roof cavity ventilation above Room 15 Ensuring all roofing interfaces and penetrations are fully weathertight MRC Room 15 (Block G) Internal Remediation Asbestos removal, testing, monitoring, clearance certification, and disposal of contaminated materials Removal of damaged ceilings, wall linings, mould-affected materials, services, fixtures, and hot water cylinder A Provisional Sum of $5,000 plus GST for replacement of any decayed timber framing Reinstatement with new wall and ceiling linings, vinyl flooring, plumbing, and electrical services Mould treatment, painting, final cleaning, and handover ready for occupation Wharenui Roof (Block J) Removal and reinstatement of plywood cladding as required for new apron flashings Replacement of the existing walkway roof and fascia guttering Demolition of the existing dormer and completion of all associated roofing, cladding, framing, and reinstatement works Completion Requirements Completion of all associated making-good works Provision of producer statements, warranties, O&M manuals, as-builts, and practical completion documentation Delivery of the works in a fully operational, weathertight, and defect-free condition Contractor Requirements Obtaining all required approvals and complying with the NZ Building Code, Ministry of Education requirements, and relevant regulations
