About this tender

Overview Queenstown-Lakes District Council (QLDC) is seeking a contractor to deliver the Wānaka Roundabout Package, comprising improvements to two intersections in Wānaka: the Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road intersection and the McDougall Street – Brownston Street intersection. The two projects have been combined into one tender due to potential interaction between them, particularly in relation to possible detour routes. About As part of the LCLR Minor Works Programme, QLDC has been considering improvements to key intersections within Wānaka. The Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road intersection is the main project within this tender. The intersection of McDougall Street and Brownston Street has also been proposed for improvement. Purpose QLDC's main focus is to deliver the Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road intersection prior to the end of the current 3-year programme on 30 June 2027. Scope The scope includes: Construction of a roundabout at the Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road intersection Construction of a roundabout at the McDougall Street – Brownston Street intersection Delivery of the Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road roundabout in an elongated (peanut) form to accommodate land restrictions Provision for pedestrians on all arms and for cyclists both on-carriageway and off-carriageway Construction of ramps on all arms to reduce entry and exit speeds Provision for a future connection to the Three Parks development via a currently unnamed road Adjustment of overhead power lines as part of the works Installation of a section of new watermain Improved stormwater management, including attenuation of design flows in underground soakage tanks Contractor Requirements Resources and capability to manage and deliver both the Golf Course Road – Ballantyne Road and McDougall Street – Brownston Street projects effectively Enquiries Contact: Procurement Administrator Email: property.procurement@qldc.govt.nz
