Overview Whakatāne District Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced demolition contractors to undertake the complete demolition and removal of buildings located at 31, 33 and 35 Quay Street, Whakatāne, and 58, 60 and 62 The Strand, Whakatāne. Purpose The project forms part of the wider floodwall integration programme approved by Council and will support the redevelopment of the area following demolition. This project offers an opportunity to deliver a high-profile demolition project that will play a key role in enabling future floodwall integration and redevelopment within Whakatāne's waterfront precinct. Scope The scope includes: Safe demolition of all specified buildings at 31, 33 and 35 Quay Street, Whakatāne, and 58, 60 and 62 The Strand, Whakatāne Removal and lawful disposal of all demolition materials, including asbestos-containing materials Implementation of all required health, safety and traffic management measures Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified and experienced in demolition works
