Overview Rio Tinto Limited is seeking expressions of interest from contractors to provide geotechnical services (onsite testing) for the Kangwinan Project. Purpose The purpose of the works is to provide independent material testing and geotechnical services to monitor quality control and conduct third-party audits during the construction phase of the Project for all civil, structural and building infrastructure including earthworks, roads and hardstands. Scope The scope includes: Performing laboratory and field testing primarily onsite using the Contractor's own mobile laboratory facilities and equipment, in accordance with relevant Australian Standards Where specialised testing cannot be conducted onsite, transporting samples offsite using Company-provided logistics to a Contractor-nominated testing facility Performing laboratory and field testing in accordance with approved standards, testing priorities, and Project team requirements Submitting NATA-certified test reports for all laboratory and field tests for Company review and acceptance Where required, undertaking Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) and/or plate load testing to assess ground conditions for crane pads and hardstands, and providing RPEQ-certified geotechnical reports confirming ultimate and allowable bearing capacities under crane loads Submitting certified geotechnical reports of completed field testing Mobilising, maintaining, and demobilising a self-contained mobile laboratory for the duration of the contract Submitting preliminary test reports within 1 business day of testing and final test reports within 5 business days of testing, based on test results Supplying, storing, and maintaining all testing equipment, tools, and consumables required for the works Conducting field testing, sample handling, storage, laboratory testing, and disposal in accordance with relevant standards and project specifications, including retaining samples for at least one week after submission of the final test report Contractor Requirements NATA accreditation for mobile laboratory facilities and equipment used for onsite testing RPEQ certification for geotechnical reports confirming bearing capacities under crane loads Compliance with all applicable client standards, Australian and local regulations, statutory requirements, and Australian codes and standards as specified in the detailed scope of work provided to bid participants Information Requested Interested parties should submit the following: A Company Capability Statement Details specific to capability and experience, as set out in the table provided A list of similar major projects completed or in progress, detailing the required operational safety standards Instructions to Tenderers Expressions of interest are being sought from contractors who can complete the whole scope of works. Expressions of interest may be submitted for all or part of the scope of works described. Local and Indigenous businesses are encouraged to participate.
