Automated Transcription Solution
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview South Australia Police (SAPOL) is seeking to source an AI enabled transcription solution for use in creating accurate transcriptions of interview recordings, body worn video recordings, and other recorded media. About SAPOL undertook a limited Proof of Concept (PoC) in 2023 using a transcription solution utilised by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC). The purpose of this activity was to assess the potential operational efficiencies associated with automated transcription capabilities. The PoC demonstrated that an effective transcription solution would provide measurable benefits to SAPOL operations. However, it also identified a number of limitations and constraints associated with the solution at that time. This procurement proposes to progress to a formal Proof of Value (PoV) stage, under which the selected supplier will work collaboratively with SAPOL to implement and validate an automated transcription solution in a controlled operational environment. The PoV stage is intended to confirm the solution's ability to deliver the anticipated operational benefits prior to any commitment to full implementation. Purpose These transcriptions are currently created manually by administrative staff or police officers and require validation in addition to the transcription itself. The solution must meet standards required by SAPOL Business Units and Court submission. This is required as the existing manual transcription process is inefficient and unsustainable. Scope The scope includes: Provision of an AI-enabled transcription solution capable of accurately processing a range of audio and video inputs relevant to SAPOL operations Implementation of the solution during a Proof of Value (PoV) phase, establishing a fully operational capability and validating performance, accuracy, and suitability against SAPOL requirements Support for transition to full implementation, subject to successful completion and acceptance of the PoV phase, in accordance with agreed contractual terms and conditions Delivery of ongoing support and maintenance, including system updates, defect resolution, and operational support for the duration of the contract Enquiries Contact: Richard Williams Office: +61 (08) 73223506 Email: richard.williams@police.sa.gov.au
How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
