Design and Construction of Curtis Road Level Crossing Removal - (Registration of Interest)

Overview The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (SA) invites suitably experienced and prequalified companies to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for the Design and Construction of Curtis Road Level Crossing Removal, Contract No. 26C023. The Australian and South Australian Governments have jointly committed $250 million (50:50 Federal, State funding) to fund the removal of the Curtis Road level crossing with a road over rail grade separation. About The Curtis Road level crossing is located in Munno Para, east of the intersection with Coventry Road and west of Main North Road, intersecting the Gawler railway line. Approximately 21,000 vehicles use this crossing daily, including commercial traffic. During peak periods the boom gates can be down for up to 15 minutes, and motorists currently experience congestion and variable travel times, particularly during these busy periods. Objectives Making journeys safer and more reliable for everyone Improving safety for local residents, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists Eliminating waiting times at busy boom gates Providing better connectivity for general traffic, public transport and cycling between district centres Improving travel time reliability and reducing time spent waiting in traffic Providing smoother and safer trips for all road users Scope Design and construction of a road over rail grade separation to remove the Curtis Road level crossing Contractor Requirements Mandatory Prequalification Requirements Registrants must meet the minimum Department prequalification under the National Roadworks and Bridgework prequalification system as follows: Contractor, Roadworks: R4 Contractor, Bridgeworks: B3 Contractor, Financial: F100+ Designer: DIT Professional and Technical Services Pre-qualification panel, Contract No 17C811 Instructions to Tenderers The Department is conducting a multi-stage procurement process to establish this contract, as follows: Stage 1: Registration of Interest (ROI) Stage 2: Expression of Interest (EOI) Stage 3: Request for Proposal: Alliance Development (RFP:AD) Following this ROI, a competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) and Request for Proposal: Alliance Development (RFP:AD) will be conducted to establish a Project Alliance Agreement to deliver this work. Companies must successfully respond to the ROI attached with this Notice and the Deed of Confidentiality to receive further project information. Project information will be provided with the subsequent EOI call. This ROI is not competitive. While it is intended to complete the ROI prior to commencement of the EOI stage, parties will not be precluded from registering after EOI commencement, however no extension of time will be granted for late registration.
