About this tender

Overview Renmark Paringa Council, Berri Barmera Council and Loxton Waikerie Council are seeking a suitably qualified independent professional to chair their respective Audit and Risk Committees. This is an opportunity to contribute to good governance and community outcomes across the Riverland. The Role The successful applicant will provide independent leadership and oversight in relation to governance, financial reporting, risk management, compliance, audit and organisational performance. Role Requirements Significant experience in governance, audit, finance, risk management or executive leadership Experience chairing committees, boards or similar governance bodies Strong financial literacy and risk management expertise Ability to meet independence requirements Contract Terms and Conditions Four-year appointment Approximately 6-12 hours per quarter Quarterly meetings for each council (12 meetings total annually), plus occasional special meetings Individual sitting fees paid by each participating Council How to Apply To apply, please email your cover letter, addressing the selection criteria outlined in the expression of interest, EOI Independent Chair Audit and Risk Committees, along with your CV to: bwatson@rpc.sa.gov.au Applications close midnight 6th September 2026.
