Overview The University of Adelaide is seeking tenders for external works to Union House, aimed at upgrading the immediate external surroundings of the precinct to bring them up to the same standard as the recently completed internal refurbishment. About Adelaide University is a leading contemporary comprehensive university of global standing, dedicated to ensuring the prosperity, wellbeing and cohesion of society by addressing educational inequality through its actions and through the success and impact of its students, staff and alumni. The University conducts outstanding future-making research of scale and focus in partnership with the communities it serves. Further information about the University is available at: https://www.adelaide.edu.au/about/ The Union House Redevelopment was successfully delivered in October 2024, delivering a full internal refurbishment of the precinct with updated amenities and services for the University and local communities. Following delivery of that project, the consultancy team was re-engaged to provide an uplift to the external surroundings of Union House. Objectives The key outcomes the University seeks to achieve are: Aesthetic uplift of the external area Increased visibility of wayfinding around the Union House Refurbishment Increased capacity for external services including lighting and general outlets Increased perception of end-user safety in the loading dock A timely delivery, with works scheduled around events happening concurrently within the Union House precinct Scope Provision of external works to uplift the immediate surroundings of Union House Enquiries Enquiries must be directed via the online forum. The online forum will be open for enquiries until 5:00pm (ACST) on Thursday 13 August 2026. Staff of the University are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the tender. Instructions to Tenderers Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box on the tendering portal. Tenderers will receive a Successful Submission Receipt, timed and dated, upon completion. The University is not bound to accept the lowest priced tender, or all or any part of a tender, and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful tenderer as it sees fit. Late, verbal or emailed tenders will not be accepted.
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
