Overview Adelaide Hills Council is committed to maintaining high standards of corporate and financial governance and is seeking expressions of interest for an independent member to serve on its Audit & Risk Committee. About The Committee consists of two (2) Council Members and three (3) Independent Members on staggered terms. The Role Adelaide Hills Council is seeking one (1) Independent Member for a term of up to four (4) years commencing 12 October 2026. Independent Members are eligible to re-submit an application for reappointment at the end of each term, to a maximum of eight (8) years of consecutive service. The overall role of the Audit & Risk Committee is to provide independent assurance and advice to Council on accounting, financial management, internal controls, risk management, and governance matters. Role Requirements Recent and relevant skills and experience in disciplines such as, but not limited to, public sector accounting and financial management, risk management, administrative law, compliance, internal audit, and governance Council seeks to achieve diversity amongst the Audit & Risk Committee membership Contract Terms and Conditions The Audit & Risk Committee is anticipated to meet a minimum of six (6) times per year Sitting fees of $542 (excl GST) plus super guarantee will be paid to successful appointees per attended meeting Independent Members will be required to comply with the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act 1999 How to Apply Expressions of Interest, in the form of a covering letter setting out skills and experience, and a brief resume, should be marked: Confidential EOI Audit and Risk Committee Independent Membership.
