Overview Berri Barmera Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced civil earthworks contractors to undertake the complete removal of an existing levee bank located on private property at 429 Morgan Road, Cobdogla, South Australia. About The levee bank was originally constructed as a flood mitigation structure during the 2022/2023 floods and is now required to be removed. Council intends to remove the embankment and rehabilitate the affected areas in accordance with applicable legislation, environmental requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and industry best practice. Scope The scope includes: Complete removal of the existing levee bank at 429 Morgan Road, Cobdogla, South Australia Transport and disposal of all excavated material generated from the levee removal works to Council's Loveday Quarry, Hermanson Road, Loveday Rehabilitation works within the Loveday Quarry to ensure a safe and stable landform is achieved, including battering and trimming of quarry pit faces where directed by Council Levee Bank Dimensions Length: approximately 1,475 metres Base width: approximately 17 metres Top width: approximately 8 metres Average height: approximately 3.5 metres Estimated volume: approximately 64,500 cubic metres (m³) of material Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified and experienced civil earthworks contractor Capacity to undertake removal and rehabilitation works in accordance with applicable legislation, environmental requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and industry best practice Tenderers should satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the supplied quantities and make their own assessments during the compulsory site inspection Tender Briefing and Site Inspection A compulsory site briefing and inspection will be conducted during the tender period to ensure all prospective tenderers fully understand the project scope, site constraints, access requirements, material handling expectations, and quarry rehabilitation requirements.
