Reconstruction of Davison Drive

Overview The City of Mount Gambier (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the reconstruction of a 700 metre section of Davison Drive (from Elliott Drive to Haig Drive), Mount Gambier (the Services). The Tenderer shall provide the Services in accordance with the Specification contained within Section D. The Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer. Scope All civil construction works are to be completed as per the supplied civil design drawings and in accordance with the civil design plan (Attachment 1). The scope includes: Excavation and removal of existing pavement and all site materials Preparation of the sub-grade materials as required Construction of all pavement layers (base and sub-base) as required Construction of all stormwater and drainage works as specified Construction of asphalt as per the pavement design and relevant standards Proof rolling of the subgrade and sub-base in the presence of the Council Representative to confirm pavement foundation stability and identify any areas requiring remediation prior to the commencement of subsequent pavement layers Compaction testing of the sub-base at a minimum frequency of one test per 500 m² for each sub-base layer Compaction testing of the basecourse at a minimum frequency of one test per 250 m² for each basecourse layer Service modifications to accommodate finished level, APA gas chambers, SA Water infrastructure points, and sewer chambers where required Work Zone Traffic Management for the duration of the project Obtaining Before You Dig plans prior to commencement of works After-hours maintenance and signage throughout the project until completion Resolution of public conflicts arising throughout the works Contractor Requirements Sub-base construction and tolerances must comply with Council's L130 Land Divisions Policy, Section 13 Materials for Roadworks (Sub-base, Construction Tolerances, and Final Trim) Testing and verification of the sub-base is a hold point, and the Contractor shall not proceed to the next stage until the Council's General Manager City Infrastructure or Manager Engineering, Design and Assets have granted approval Inspection hold points must be applied as per the Council's L130 Land Divisions Policy Supply of a safe work method statement or similar prior to undertaking any works and completion of an onsite Council induction process Compliance with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations Supply of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for road works in advance of the start of the project Contract Terms and Conditions Works are limited to the hours of 7.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, in accordance with all EPA noise requirements The Council will not be held responsible for any costs associated with damage to plant, equipment, or private property by contractors or sub-contractors engaged in the works The Council's representative will regularly inspect the works, complete site audits, undertake performance evaluations onsite, and liaise with the Contractor prior to completion of the works for quality control and finished product Enquiries Steph McIntosh: smcintosh@mountgambier.sa.gov.au
