Via the Research Fund, Lung Foundation Australia is honoured to invite applications for the 2025 Marianne Ambrose Memorial Travel Grant, valued at $10,000 for the 2026 World Conference for Lung Cancer. This $10,000 grant made possible through the generous support of the Ambrose and Lynch families in loving memory of Marianne—an inspiring wife, mother, daughter, and health advocate is dedicated to advancing education in lung cancer care and reflects Marianne’s enduring commitment to learning and improving patient outcomes. Offered annually for five years, the grant supports: General Practitioners pursuing further education in the early detection of lung cancer Nurses undertaking advanced training or specialisation in lung cancer care Junior doctors in the early stages of specialising in lung cancer treatment The grant provides recipients with the opportunity to attend the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer, contributing to their professional development and strengthening Australia’s healthcare response to lung cancer. Through this grant, Marianne’s legacy will continue to inspire and empower the next generation of medical professionals dedicated to transforming lung cancer care. Applications from those intending to present their research as a poster and/or oral or abstract are highly encouraged and will be given priority during the assessment process. Grant funding may be used to cover any or all of the following costs incurred: Return airfares. Accommodation for the duration of the conference. Travel costs (e.g. taxis, parking).
