Overview Lung Foundation Australia is inviting applications from early career researchers for the Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant-in-Aid for Respiratory Research. The grant is valued at $5,000 (+ GST) over a maximum of 1 year. About The Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant-in-Aid in Respiratory Research was established in 1992 in memory of Professor Ludwig Engel, a distinguished Respiratory Physiologist who made an outstanding contribution to respiratory science and medicine through his own endeavours and his influence on his colleagues. The grant is made possible through generous financial contributions from his many colleagues, donations from the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries, and the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand. Funding Grant funding will commence post-notification in Q1, 2026. Grant funds may be used to supplement other sources of research funding; refer to the Terms and Conditions for further information. Eligibility Health professionals and early to mid-career researchers with a special interest in respiratory medicine research are invited to apply. Projects that further focus on priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, are highly encouraged and will be viewed favourably.
