The existing fire station located on 145-149 Hargreaves St, 21 and 23 Hopetoun St, Bendigo VIC 3550, will be demolished and replaced with a new, purpose-built facility. The current 40-year-old building is no longer fit for purpose. The new station will be designed exclusively for career firefighters and will include 39 on-site car parks. The new fire station will include but not limited to the following facilities: • Four appliance bays • 16 rest and recline rooms, including 8 ensuites • Kitchen, lounge, and gym facilities • Clean PPE room • Communications room • Station office • Laundry facilities, including a clean laundry room • Equipment rooms • External sheds The scope of works includes: • Demolition of the existing fire station, including all structures, hardstands, outbuildings, and associated vegetation. • Construction of a new single-storey fire station and associated outbuildings. • Delivery of external infrastructure, including car parking, driveways, boundary fencing, access gates, and reinstatement of crossovers, footpaths, and nature strips. • Completion of all necessary site preparation works, including bulk excavation, on-site water treatment and retention, soil testing for disposal, and installation of safety hoardings in accordance with local authority requirements. • Installation of all building services, including mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, electrical, communications, and security systems. • Supply and installation of all nominated fittings and fixtures, including coordination of required in-wall supports for principal-supplied items.
